Mr. Manuel Ortega, Assistant Secretary-General and Deputy Director International Relations Department, China-Africa Business Council, spoke of the opportunities for increasing standards and global food security through the development of agricultural sectors in Africa. Mr. Ortega pointed to the important role of PIGA to help African countries set-up legal frameworks for agricultural development. There is also a need to improve regulations to facilitate transport, cross-border trade, licencing, etc.
