On 31 March 2023, at 14:00 pm, the Ethiopian Embassy in China and the Ethiopian Airlines Group co-hosted the launch of "Ethiopian Airlines celebrates 50 years of flying to China" in the Friendship Hall of the Ethiopian Embassy in China. Zhou Ping, Vice Director General of the Department of Africa of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Tefera Derbew Yimam, Ambassador of Ethiopia to China, and the head of the African diplomatic corps in China were among the leaders who attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. The port offices, airport leaders and relevant units of the cities where the routes in China are located were all present at the meeting.
