On June 5, local time, the RESPITE solar-plus-storage project designed, procured, and constructed by TBEA was officially commissioned. The President of Sierra Leone led a delegation to the Newton Power Plant site to conduct an on-site inspection and research for the project，and spoke highly of the project’s achievements and fully commended TBEA for completing the project with high quality and efficiency. Once the RESPITE solar-plus-storage project becomes operational, it is expected to boost Sierra Leone’s national electricity access rate from the current 16% to 36% by 2026, and it also marks a significant step for Sierra Leone toward clean energy and sustainable development, and represents a major milestone in the country’s energy development history.
