Tanzania’s 50th SABASABA Exhibition Hosts “Golden Jubilee Night” Celebration

Recently, the organizing committee of the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (SABASABA) in Tanzania held a launch ceremony for the 50th “Golden Jubilee Night.” In her remarks, Latifa Hamis, Director General of the Tanzania Trade Development Authority, noted that the SABASABA Fair has evolved from a traditional exhibition and sales platform into a comprehensive international economic and trade hub. Over the past five years, on-site transaction volume has increased from 2.4 billion Tanzanian shillings to 7.06 billion Tanzanian shillings, while the number of international exhibitors has grown from 76 companies from 17 countries to 430 companies from 30 countries, creating over 21,000 temporary jobs. As the official organizer for the Chinese delegation, the East Africa Trade and Logistics Center (EACLC) has organized Chinese companies’ participation in the exhibition for many consecutive years. At the 49th edition, the China Pavilion—designed and constructed by EACLC—was awarded “Best Foreign Pavilion,” and EACLC itself was honored as a “Main Sponsor,” receiving high praise from Zanzibar President Mwinyi. The 50th edition of the fair will take place from June 28 to July 13, and EACLC will continue to organize Chinese enterprises to participate, furthering economic and trade cooperation between China and Tanzania.
