Ghanaian President Attends Ceremony, Cuts Ribbon at Twyford Glass Factory

On February 24, Ghanaian President John Mahama officiated the foundation-laying ceremony for Twyford Ghana's first float glass factory, hailing it as a milestone in Ghana's shift from import-substitution to export-oriented industrialization. With glass imports exceeding 65,000 tons worth nearly $25 million in 2024, the new plant will position Ghana as a major regional glass exporter upon completion. The nearly $100 million project, designed to produce 600 tons daily, is expected to be finished next year, creating over 1,000 jobs. The President also toured ceramic production lines and witnessed a product donation worth 500,000 cedis to local institutions. Twyford Ghana's products now reach over 20 countries, continuously enhancing the "Made in Ghana" brand.
