China-Assisted Satellite Ground Data Receiving Station Officially Handed Over to Namibia

On February 12, the China-assisted satellite ground data receiving station was handed over to Namibia. The Namibian Prime Minister stated the project will enhance the country's remote sensing capabilities, supporting disaster prevention and economic decision-making, positioning Namibia among few African nations with real-time satellite data reception. The Chinese Ambassador noted this as China's first high-tech assistance project in Namibia, demonstrating commitment to African technological development. The station is now independently operated by Namibia, with 14 technicians trained by China and continued support to follow.
