On January 31, Mozambican President Daniel Chapo attended the inauguration ceremony of a Chinese-invested graphite processing plant in Niassa Province, northern Mozambique, hailing the project as a tangible achievement of Mozambique-China economic and trade cooperation. He stated that the plant will help Mozambique transition from exporting raw materials to exporting high value-added products, creating job opportunities, increasing household incomes, and promoting sustainable economic development. The project, invested by Jinan Yuxiao Group with a total of approximately USD 150 million, is planned to produce 200,000 tons of graphite annually. During construction, the company also built a cross-river bridge, nearly 100 kilometers of roads, and power transmission lines, significantly improving local infrastructure and living conditions for residents.
