On January 17, a delegation led by Chen Shihai, Chairman of the Fujian Provincial Returned Overseas Chinese Federation, visited the Yibei Industrial New City project in Angola and attended a strategic cooperation signing ceremony. The event brought together government, chamber of commerce, and corporate representatives from both China and Angola, witnessing seven enterprises sign agreements to settle in the industrial park, with a total investment of nearly USD 500 million expected to create about 5,000 jobs. The Fujian Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the Fujian Returnees Mutual Development Association signed partnership agreements with Yibei Industrial New City, advancing the “Overseas Chinese Assistance for Thousands of Enterprises and Products Going Global” initiative. Participants praised the project’s role in promoting Angola’s economic diversification, industrial upgrading, and China-Angola cooperation, highlighting its alignment with the Belt and Road Initiative and its potential to drive local industrialization as a model of China-Africa collaboration.
