On July 11, 2025, the launch ceremony for the export of wild aquatic products from Sierra Leone to China was held in Freetown. China will work together with Africa to oppose all forms of unilateralism and protectionism and to promote inclusive economic globalization. Furthermore, the export of high-quality fishery products from Sierra Leone to China is expected to increase export revenues, enhance product quality, upgrade the fisheries value chain, contribute to poverty alleviation and social development of Sierra Leone.
