On 23 May 2025, the Chadian stadium constructed by China was inaugurated in N'Djamena. Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno kicked off the first ball on the stadium's football field, symbolizing the official opening of the stadium. During the ceremony, the facility was named after the former president as the Marshal Idriss Deby Itno Olympic Stadium. President Mahamat expressed gratitude for China and confidence in Chad-China cooperation. China's Ambassador to Chad, H.E. Wang Xining, stated that: “ the stadium symbolizes the friendship between the people of China and Chad and represents the tangible China-Chad collaboration.”
