Africa's accelerated application of artificial intelligence is expected to lead to $2.9 trillion in economic growth by 2030. The technology is widely used in many areas, such as agriculture, healthcare, fintech and education. Many African governments are supporting the industry by issuing strategies, strengthening infrastructure and promoting cooperation.
In July 2024, the China-Africa Digital Cooperation Forum issued the China-Africa Action Plan for Digital Cooperation and Development, marking a new phase of cooperation. Chinese companies have helped upgrade Africa's infrastructure, promoting technology application, and also enhancing the local talent pool through training and competitions. China and Africa should seize the opportunity to strengthen cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence for mutual benefit and win-win results.
