With
the arrival of the Spring Festival holiday, overseas markets are eagerly anticipating
outbound tourism from Chinese consumers. Africa, with its vast land area,
unique natural landscapes, and cultural heritage, is increasingly being
included on the destination lists of Chinese tourists. According to data from
the Zanzibar Tourism Board in Tanzania, the number of Chinese tourists has been
growing year by year since 2021, increasing from 1,229 in 2021 to 12,136 in
2024. In 2024, the number of Chinese tourists visiting Tanzania grew by 78.7%
compared to the previous year.
As
China-Africa cooperation deepens and cultural exchanges continue to strengthen,
many African countries are focusing on the Chinese market and have introduced
policies to facilitate travel for Chinese tourists. According to information
from the Chinese consular service website, at least 26 African countries and
regions have implemented visa-free entry or visa-on-arrival policies for
Chinese citizens holding regular passports.
