On August 30,2024 the Logistics Special Committee of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), the Logistics Working Committee of the China-Africa Business Council (CABC), and Changjiu Industrial Group jointly hosted the event “Changjiu Logistics — China-Africa Smart Logistics and Green Energy Seminar”. The event was attended by 35 national representatives from seven countries: the Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Cameroon, Comoros, Benin, and Burkina Faso. Liu Yunlian, Level II Counselor of the Department of Organization of ACFIC, Wang Jiang, Executive Secretary-General of CABC, Wang Hongchang, Assistant Secretary-General of the New Energy Chamber of Commerce of ACFIC, and Zhang Chunyu, Vice Chairman of the Beijing Logistics Chamber of Commerce, attended the event. Leading executives of Changjiu Logistics warmly received the guests and held friendly and in-depth exchanges with national representatives at the seminar.
Yan Chao, President of Changjiu Logistics, introduced that Changjiu Logistics is an international automotive logistics enterprise whose business covers vehicle logistics, international logistics, and new energy. With the acceleration of globalization and the in-depth implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, China-Africa cooperation has embraced unprecedented development opportunities. Africa is a key focus for Changjiu; its new energy storage products have secured a stable market in Africa, and the international logistics team is actively exploring business opportunities across the continent. Changjiu Logistics will contribute to Africa’s development with the “Changjiu Solution” and looks forward to more cooperation opportunities with guests present.
Subsequently, Zheng Junpeng, Assistant to the General Manager of the International Business Division of Changjiu Logistics, gave a brief introduction to the Changjiu Group and Changjiu Logistics’ business, with a focus on the diversified transportation resources and one-stop service capabilities of Changjiu Logistics in international logistics. Africa is an important business market for Changjiu Logistics; the company has successfully undertaken multiple projects in Africa and earned unanimous recognition from clients. ITOUA PRINCE VALDANO, Overseas Sales Manager of the New Energy Division, presented the main content and recent operations of the new energy business. Changjiu is committed to advancing the electrification process in regions with weak power grids worldwide, and Africa has long been a key market for Changjiu Logistics’ storage products.
During the discussion session, Dicky Ekere ENGANI, Counselor of the General Office of the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), stated that green and low-carbon development is an enduring theme and also an important strategic direction for Changjiu. He expressed hope to maintain in-depth exchanges and cooperation in the future, noting that going global requires coordination in legal, cultural, political and other fields. Logistics development is one of the key priorities of the DRC, and energy issues are also pain points for local enterprises in the DRC during business operations.
Zico Cedrick Ilunga KILAMBI, Foreign Affairs Manager of the Administration Department of JTPCC Power Co., Ltd. of the DRC, stated that the DRC is rich in mineral resources but faces severe energy challenges. More than 80% of electricity relies on hydropower, which fails to meet demand, resulting in “zoned” power supply. Undoubtedly, the company’s products can effectively meet the electricity demand of the DRC, though future competition should also be noted. The DRC offers favorable conditions such as a one-stop service platform and a second-hand car market; Changjiu is warmly welcomed to develop in the DRC, and full support will be provided to the best of ability.
Styve ABESSOLO, Industrial Director of the Ministry of Industry of Gabon, stated that energy development is the foundation; energy constraints restrict industrial growth, and current development of iron ore and other resources requires power support. In international logistics, he hoped to accelerate the construction of coastal ports, develop international trade, and improve port efficiency. Specifically, this includes reducing waiting times and regulatory restrictions on customs clearance; infrastructure construction such as port routes; and the application of digitalization and technologies.
Murielle Honorine Bai GNAMBLOHOU, Director of Industrial Development of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Benin, stated that Benin is a West African country with a population of more than 12 million and a stable political environment. It currently has one special economic zone and four industrial parks under construction, and also faces energy challenges. She will report on the seminar after returning to Benin, and welcomed Changjiu to develop in Benin and put forward needs and investment proposals.
At the end of the event, Xing Shengjie, Director of the PV-Storage-Charging Business Department of the New Energy Division, led guests to visit the V2G demonstration station located in the Changjiu Logistics Park, to further understand Changjiu’s industrial chain layout in the new energy sector. Through energy storage products and V2G technology, the company has formed an integrated solution of “PV, Storage, Charging, Inspection and Discharging”, which improves power grid accommodation and supports the construction of new-type power grids.
