Mr. Wu Yanming, Chairman of the China-Africa Business Council (CABC), was invited to attend and address the Zimbabwe-China Business Forum in Hangzhou on September 15. H.E. Constantino Chiwenga, Vice President of Zimbabwe, and H.E. Abigail Shoniwa, Ambassador of Zimbabwe to China, attended the forum. Mr. Wu expressed that CABC currently serves more than 4,500 enterprises and institutions across 54 African countries, with 40 member companies operating in Zimbabwe in mining, agriculture and infrastructure. He highlighted the opportunities arising from China’s zero-tariff treatment for 53 African countries having diplomatic relations with China and expressed that CABC would leverage its platform to help Zimbabwean enterprises expand exports to China while encouraging Chinese companies to invest in local processing. Mr. Wu also proposed strengthening cooperation in green energy, green mineral value chains and low-carbon agriculture to promote coordinated development of China-Zimbabwe economic and trade cooperation and green industries.
