The
“Export to China” Ethiopia event was held in Addis Ababa on August 19, with
Chinese and Ethiopian companies signing 33 cooperation agreements worth more
than US$330 million. Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia H.E. Chen Hai highlighted
China’s zero-tariff measures, trade facilitation and increased investment in
Ethiopia as key drivers for expanding Ethiopian exports to China and enhancing
their global competitiveness. Ethiopia’s Minister of Trade and Regional
Integration Hon. Kassahun Gofe called on Ethiopian businesses to seize the
opportunities and expand into the Chinese market.
