“Over 60% Market Share”: Chinese Automakers Find New Opportunities in Africa

Chinese automakers are expanding their presence in Africa, moving from vehicle exports to local assembly, production, sales and after-sales services. Their competitive pricing, reliability and localized products have won growing recognition among African consumers, with Chinese brands now accounting for over 60% of Angola’s auto market. At the same time, Chinese automakers are supporting local production, skills development, supply chains and after-sales services, contributing to Africa’s automotive and manufacturing industries and advancing mutual benefit and win-win cooperation in the China–Africa automotive sector.
