Nearly
500 representatives attended the seminar on “China’s Zero-Tariff Measures and
Africa’s Economic Structural Transformation,” hosted by the Center for China
Studies in Nigeria. Participants noted that China’s full implementation of
zero-tariff treatment for the 53 African countries that have diplomatic
relations with China provides important opportunities for Africa, both as a
market opportunity and a driver of industrial transformation. The measure is
expected to support higher product quality and manufacturing capacity, while
advancing the China-Africa partnership toward greater emphasis on production,
industrialization, innovation, and value co-creation.
