Kenyan
expert Lewis Ndichu of the Institute of African Policy Studies noted in an
interview with Xinhua News Agency that China’s manufacturing sector
helps Global South countries connect to global markets through infrastructure,
capital, technology, and production expertise, effectively supporting their
industrialization. Chinese cooperation in Kenya has expanded from
infrastructure to manufacturing and green technology, supporting employment,
local supply chains, and industrial capacity. Ndichu emphasized that China’s
zero-tariff policy can further promote agro-processing, cold chains, packaging,
and logistics, helping African countries shift from primary-product exports
toward higher-value processed products.
