Since
May 1, China has fully implemented zero-tariff treatment for 53 African
countries having diplomatic relations with China. Over the past 100 days, more
African products, including Kenyan avocado oil, Ethiopian coffee, South African
wine, and Zimbabwean blueberries, have entered the Chinese market, driving
stronger China–Africa trade. Meanwhile, the policy is encouraging African
businesses to move from raw-material exports toward local processing, branding,
and value-chain upgrading, supporting agricultural and industrial development
as well as job creation. With the upgrading of the “green channel” for African
agricultural and food products and continued improvements in China–Africa trade
mechanisms, zero-tariff benefits are generating new momentum for trade and
industrial development, highlighting a more balanced, mutually beneficial, and
sustainable China–Africa partnership.
