On
August 3, the groundbreaking ceremony for the China-aided National Surgical
Center project was held in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. According to President
H.E. Daniel Francisco Chapo, the project will serve as an important landmark of
Mozambique-China cooperation in public health and benefit more Mozambicans by
providing access to specialized medical services in their own country. Chinese
Ambassador to Mozambique H.E. Zheng Xuan noted that China will continue to
support Mozambique’s healthcare development. The project, undertaken by Shanxi
Sijian Group Co., Ltd. will include a surgical center building and supporting
facilities at Maputo Central Hospital, further strengthening local healthcare
capacity.
