South African Deputy President Welcomes More Chinese Investment

South African Deputy President Paul Mashatile said his government welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest in South Africa and use the country as a gateway to the African market. He noted that Chery Automobile's investment in the Rosslyn Plant will strengthen South Africa's automotive industry by enhancing manufacturing competitiveness, creating employment opportunities, and supporting economic growth. In addition, Chery Automobile plans to develop the Rosslyn Plant into a comprehensive automotive hub integrating research and development (R&D), manufacturing, supply chain operations, skills training, and exports, further deepening China–South Africa automotive industry cooperation for mutual benefit.
