The President of Tanzania recently inaugurated the East Africa Commercial and Logistics Center in Dar es Salaam, marking a milestone in China–Africa economic cooperation. Developed by Weihai Huatan Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., the center is the core project of the East Africa Commercial and Logistics Industrial Park and has quickly generated strong spillover effects, driving a steady increase in orders from African markets for Chinese enterprises. Integrating trade, logistics, warehousing, exhibitions, cross-border e-commerce and supply chain services, it is currently the largest and most modern commercial complex in Tanzania. Since its launch, the center has attracted over 1,300 merchants across multiple industries and is expected to boost foreign trade by USD 400 million in 2025. With plans to accelerate digital and smart logistics upgrades, the project is becoming a key platform for facilitating efficient, two-way China–Africa trade and deeper economic connectivity.
