On January 5, 2026, China–Africa Development Fund (CADFund) and Jiayou International Logistics Co., Ltd. officially launched their cooperation to jointly develop key land-based logistics corridors in Africa. The partnership will focus on the construction of the Sakania and Mokambo Border Posts in Zambia, along with supporting connecting roads, to enhance cross-border logistics between Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Targeting long-standing bottlenecks in major resource-rich regions of southern DRC and Zambia, the project aims to build modern logistics hubs integrating warehousing, inspection and transshipment functions, while promoting rail–road multimodal transport in coordination with the Tanzania–Zambia Railway. The cooperation represents a concrete step in implementing the Joint Statement on Building the TAZARA Railway Prosperity Belt and the connectivity partnership action under China–Africa cooperation, contributing to lower logistics costs, higher transport efficiency and deeper China–Africa infrastructure connectivity.
