On December 18, Dr. Jean Kaseya, Director of the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), led a delegation to visit BGI Group. Discussions centered on cooperation in disease prevention, platform development, and personnel training.
Dr. Kaseya commended BGI for its
achievements in scientific innovation, disease control, and contributions to
China-Africa public health collaboration. He expressed hope for continued
cooperation in building Africa’s healthcare systems and talent cultivation. BGI
Chairman and co-founder Wang Jian affirmed the company’s commitment to
implementing the outcomes of the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC)
Beijing Summit, supporting Africa CDC’s development, and contributing technical
expertise to China-Africa public health collaboration.
