On November 3,2023 officials from six Portuguese-speaking countries — Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe, Brazil, and Portugal — participating in the “Seminar for Portuguese-Speaking Countries on Supporting SMEs in Post-Pandemic Recovery” organized by the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) of China, visited Changxing, Huzhou, known as the “Pearl of Taihu Lake”. This event was part of the “Belt and Road” International Officials Enterprise Tour series organized by the China-Africa Business Council (CABC). During their stay in Huzhou, the officials from the six countries successively visited Chilwee Group Co., Ltd., a supervisory member unit of the Council, and the Geely Auto Changxing Manufacturing Base.
The seminar aimed to help officials from Portuguese‑speaking countries understand the key drivers of China’s economy and enterprise development, learn about the current status of the power energy storage and new energy vehicle industries, and promote cooperation and exchanges between Chinese and foreign enterprises.
On the morning of November 3, participants of the seminar visited the exhibition hall at the headquarters of Chilwee Group, where they learned about Chilwee’s power batteries and energy storage products. They also toured the National Engineering Research Center for Environmental Pollution Control in Lead‑Acid Battery Production and Recycling and related laboratories. Later, leaders of Chilwee Group held discussions and exchanges with the seminar participants in the headquarters meeting room.
On the afternoon of November 3, the seminar participants arrived at the Geely Auto Changxing Production Base. Yu Jiangang, Manufacturing Director, invited the participants to watch a promotional video of Geely Auto. Afterward, they took a tour bus to visit the production workshop and experienced the “intelligent, automated, lean, and flexible” four‑modern factory.
Geely’s manufacturing level ranks among the industry leaders in China, with an average production rate of one vehicle per minute.
