October 29th, the “Village Connection” Project in Nigeria aided by China was declared to be finished. As a result, residents of 1000 villages in Nigeria, the country with the largest population in Africa, are able to watch TV shows with clear images and diverse contents through satellites.
“Village Connection” Project was proposed during Johannesburg Summit of FOCAC, whose goal is that people in 10000villages of African countries are able to watch TV through satellites.
“Village Connection” Project in Nigeria is sponsored by StarTimes Nigerian Branch, which is a Chinese-funded company. StarTimes finally completed the plan with the help of local government and community.
