October 23rd, the first Russia-Africa Summit was opening in Sochi, Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin advocated that the trade between Russia and African countries should double in the following four to five years and indicated that Russia had freed Africa from the debt of 20 billion dollars. In addition, Putin said that many Russian companies had gained great success in cooperation with African partners in different fields for a long time so that they plan to further expand their influence in Africa. In the future, Russia will focus more on strengthening their trade bond with Africa.
