On August 13, the 2018 Networking Event for Chinese Entrepreneurs and Ministerial Officials from B&R Countries, which was co-sponsored by the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), Ministry of Commerce and China-Africa Business Council(CABC) was successfully held in Beijing.
The meeting was held in the context of the upcoming Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), aiming to build a platform for display, to expand communications, and to promote exchanges between Chinese companies and high-level officials in the Belt and Road countries, especially in Africa.
Mr. Liu Mingzhe, the Deputy Dean of the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), and Mr. Wang Jiandong, the Vice-Chairman of CABC and Chairman of LuAn Steel Holding Group Co.,Ltd., delivered speeches on behalf of the organizers. Mr. Ibrahim Ndahi AUTA, from the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Mr. John Pan Kuea PANGUIR, from the South Sudan Department of Trade and Industry, and Mr. Moussa Ali MEIGAGUE, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Djibouti, spoke on behalf of the foreign party. Mr. Wang Xiaoyong, the Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CABC, made a concluding speech.
The exchange meeting specially set up an exhibition area to provide companies with platforms to display products, projects, services, and technologies. Four units, including Huayuan Security Company, Norinco International, Kenya Airways, and Pingle Group, respectively displayed their products. This aroused strong interest and won recognition and praises by the guests, especially by foreign officials.
The meeting attracted more than 120 guests, including 73 representatives from 33 CABC member units, and 43 officials from Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Djibouti, South Sudan, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Laos, Nepal, and Mexico, including 12 deputy ministers and above.
The exchange meeting is also one of the series of activities organized by CABC to match the sub-forums of the Beijing Summit of FOCAC, with the theme of the Belt and Road and China-Africa Cooperation. CABC and its member companies will actively participate in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and strive to promote projects, so that more pragmatic cooperation will benefit both Chinese enterprises and people from the “Belt and Road” countries.
